The project "Nós Mulheres: Sustainable Woodworking" involves the women of Santa Cruz and Portal de Santa Cruz districts and promotes the reuse of wood residues from the EJA in the production of handicrafts to generate jobs and income, and to stimulate social inclusion and entrepreneurship.

In a partnership with SEBRAE, the participants were offered the course of Craft Management and Design. In the lessons they were taught how to improve their craftsmanship skills, to produce higher quality pieces, as well as marketing techniques.

The completion certificates were delivered in a ceremony at EJA on June 11. EJA employees were able to get to know and buy the pieces on display.

"Nós Mulheres: Sustainable Woodworking" is an initiative of the National Agency for Economic Development and Environmental Defense (ANDESA), sponsored by EJA and has the support of the Aracruz City Hall.
