The shipyard was designed to occupy an area of 82.5 hectares, and on its shore marine facilities dedicated to the realization of shipbuilding, offshore and repairs. The main focus is the supply of drilling rigs and ships platform for the pre-salt fields. The Jurong Aracruz Shipyard is a project that will have approximately 3,500 direct and 2,500 indirect employees. The deployment phase will take place in two years and will employ 2,500 workers. The operation is scheduled to start in the second half of 2012. The project implementation and operation of the shipyard is geared towards the development of local and national content, and this premise is a commitment to Jurong.
