Jurong selects trainees of IFES for training in Singapore

The Jurong Aracruz Shipyard (EJA) will choose, by selection process, thirty graduates of the Federal Institute of the Espirito Santo (IFES) to participate in early 2016 Training Program in Naval and Oceanic Technology in Ngee Ann Institute and in Sembcorp Marine shipyards. Registration will be online on the EJA website, from day 1 until July 24. The end result will be announced on October 22.

The Training Program in Naval and Oceanic Technology is a professional exchange taught in Singapore and directed the young technicians trained by the Federal Institute of the Espirito Santo (IFES). Through training, the program prepares skilled labor in the international standards to operate in the EJA.

Also, it provides technology transfer and training, information and immersion in the culture and working practices of Singapore. The investment in the program is US$ 4 million, five-year forecast and sending students and teachers IFES annually. This is the fourth class of trainees to be sent to Singapore. About 50 technicians of the first two groups of trainees are already working on shipyard operation, and the third group, which embarked on January 4 this year, is in the Asian country, studying and living an unique opportunity in life.

"I never thought I would have an opportunity like this, living in a developed country, learn another language and have a chance to qualify in a country that is a reference in the naval area. Thanks to the program, I have a very different view of things, I can say that I am better prepared to face challenges and overcome personal and professional barriers." said the trainee Francisco de Barcelos Neto Rangel, the third class of the program.
