Conservation Units leads Environmental Education to the beaches during the summer

For the fourth consecutive year, environmental education topics will be presented during the summer goers of Aracruz and Fundão beaches on weekends of January.

The campaign is an initiative of Conservation Units (UCs) "Environmental Protection Area Coast Seaweed" and "Wildlife Refuge Santa Cruz", managed by the Chico Mendes Institute for Biodiversity Conservation (ICMBio).

The Jurong Shipyard Aracruz is a partner, providing logistical support for the campaign, in compliance with Condition No. 30 of LI 329/10.

Through playful and interactive actions, community volunteers approach the valuation of biodiversity and natural resources of the region, as well as guidance on behaviors that contribute to the conservation of marine and coastal PAs environments. Environmental education for adults, children, tourists and locals.

Note that the actions on the beaches interact with educational activities carried out by the Environmental Education Program of PAs in schools in the region. Thus, students who also attend the beaches, have the opportunity to relate, adopt and internalize the environmental issues on both occasions.
